PURPOSE:To obtain a door rail that has body and is good in heat insulating properties, by inserting a core member into a mold, holding the opposite sides of the core member between projections for securing the core member, injecting a urethane resin into the mold, hardening the resin and removing the molded item. CONSTITUTION:A core member 5 made of aluminium, iron or the like formed into a pipe rectangular in cross section that has a securing groove 12 in one side and reinforcing pieces 13 extended outward of the corners of the side. The core member 5 is put in a pair of molds 1, 2 that can be separated away, and the molds 1, 2 are mated with the opposite sides of the core member 5 held between the projections 3, 4 for securing the core member. In this case, after the projection 4 is inserted in the groove 12, a foamable urethane resin 6 is injected between the molds 1, 2 followed by foaming and setting so that the core member 5 except the parts where the projections 3, 4 are present is covered with the urethane resin. Then the molds are removed to obtain the door rail (A) with the core member 5 inserted. |
