PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure of injection corresponding to the operative condition of an engine, by communicating a spring chamber, which contains a spring urging a nozzle needle in the closing direction, with a fuel passage so as to apply a pressure of fuel from a fuel pump to the nozzle needle as the back pressure. CONSTITUTION:High pressure fuel compressed and delivered by a fuel injection pump is fed to a fuel canal (fuel passage) 32 in a nozzle holder built up structure 10 through a high pressure injection pipe and then to a fuel reservoir 17 via fuel canals 22, 18. While a part of the fuel is simultaneously fed into a pressure spring chamber 30 through a communication passage 33. If a forced feed of this fuel is finished, the pressure in the fuel canal 32 and the pressure spring chamber 30 decreases, closing a check valve 26. In this way, the fuel is injected into a combustion chamber from nozzles 15, 16 by holding a pressure in a side of the fuel reservoir 17 to a high level but decreasing a pressure in the pressure spring chamber 30 thus lifting a nozzle needle 19 against a pressure spring 39. |
