PURPOSE:To improve the water resistance and resistance against light exposure of an aqueous ink image, in an ink jet recording paper wherein a cation resin is contained in the surface thereof as a waterproofing agent, by using a specific basic oligomer as the cation resin. CONSTITUTION:A basic oligomer containing a compound represented by formula (wherein R1, R2, R3 are an alkyl group, m is an integer of 1-7, n is an integer of 2-10 and Y is an acid group) as a constitutional unit is contained in the surface of an object to be recorded in an amount of, usually, 0.1-4g/m<2>, pref., 0.2- 2g/m<2>. The adaptation of said oligomer to the object to be recorded is performed, for example, by such a method wherein an aqueous solution of said basic oligomer is applied to thick paper along with a proper binder or said oligomer is added to a coating liquid containing a pigment and an adhesive and the resulting mixture is applied to said thick paper. As an aqueous ink used in the object to be recorded, one containing at least one of a water soluble acid dye and a water soluble direct dye is used. |
