<p>PURPOSE:To provide a two-pack solventless adhesive which is suitable for use in bonding metals, does not require baking and has high adhesion and flexibility, consisting of a specified liquid prepolymer and a specified polyol. CONSTITUTION:A two-pack adhesive which is used in bonding metals and whose film has a modulus of elongation of 0.5-100kg/cm<2>, is composed of a liquid prepolymer (A) having only 2 to 5 NCO groups at its terminals, obtd. by reacting a polyisocyanate such as 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a polyol such as polypropylene glycol and a polyol (B) contg. 2 to 5 OH groups (pref. the same as that used in the production of component A). Since the adhesive is solventless, its drying time is minimized. Further, since the adhesive is a two- part reaction type, there are advantages that it does not require a large-sized oven, can reduce plant investment, does not cause environmental pollution, can be manufactured at a high rate and at reduced manufacturing cost.</p> |
