PURPOSE:To form a uniform skin layer irrespective of the position of a gate, by providing a mold for molding a sandwich with a dummy runner(s) at the end of the cavity for allowing a skin layer material to escape. CONSTITUTION:A mold for molding a sandwich comprising a core layer 8 or 11 and a skin layer 9 or 12 is provided with a dummy runner 13 that is rectangular in shape, has a size approximately corresponding to the lengths of the sides of the intended item and is connected by a fan gate, or with a plurality of dummy runners 14 that are connected via pin gates with the mold cavity, so that the excess amount of the skin material flowed through the gate 7 or 10 may be allowed to escape to the dummy runner(s) 13 or 14 outside of the mold cavity. Thus, irrespective of the position of the gate, a uniform skin layer can be formed. |
