PURPOSE:To measure transmitted light or measure scattered light in an optional angular position by using a single photodetector and turning this photodetector around a sample cell to select a scattered light receiving angle. CONSTITUTION:When a photodetector 4 is placed in the position indicated by an alternate long and two short dashes line, light from a light source 1 becomes a monochromatic light by a spectroscope 2 and is made incident to a sample cell 3. The light transmitted through the sample cell 3 has the energy reduced by a transmitted light attenuator 5 and is made incident to a photodetector 4 and a voltage (e) is applied to a data processing part 9 through a logarithmic amplifier 7. In case that the photodetector 4 is turned around the sample cell to measure scattered light (the photodetector is placed in the position indicated by a solid line), a signal is sent to a signal switching circuit 8, and movable contacts 14 and 15 are switched from fixed contacts 10 and 11 to fixed contacts 12 and 13, and the voltage is inputted to a scattered light measuring circuit. The photodetector 4 stopped at an optional scattered light receiving angle theta receives the scattered light from the sample cell 3, and the voltage (e) is applied to the data processing part 9. |
