<p>PURPOSE:To perform accurate position detection of a moving body, by installing a solenoid coil connected to a single-mode optical fiber arranged along a path of a moving body and detecting change of direction of an output light at the light-receiving end of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Along a running path 8 of a moving body 3 is arranged a single- mode optical fiber cable 1 covered with non-reflecting coating on both end surfaces, and on its one end is located a light source 2 and on the other end a light-receiving system 6. On the moving body 3 is mounted a solenoid coil 4 surrounding the cable 1 and an electric power source 5 is connected a solenoid coil 4. A light-receiving signal 11 basing on a change of an output light 7 corresponding to positions of the coil 4 is delivered to a position detecting system 9 and control of the moving body 3 is performed by detecting its position accurately through a motion controlling system 10 and a control signal 12.</p> |
