PURPOSE:To improve the sealing performance by providing a partition wall parallel with a reaction gas path at the edge of separator to be placed between unit cells while inserting an unit cell through an insulative frame sheet into a recess between the partition walls. CONSTITUTION:Partition walls 14, 15 parallel with reaction gas paths 11, 12 are formed at the edge of separator 7 to be placed between unit cells 6 comprised of matrix 1, fuel electrode 2, air electrode 3 and ribbed electrode material 4, 5. An unit cell 6 is inserted into a recess defined by partition walls 14, 15 through a sheet seal frame 16 formed by coating a metal sheet with fluororubber having innercircumference contacting against the circumference of upper face of matrix 1 and outercircumference contacting against the partition walls 14, 15 of separator 7. Consequently mixing of fuel and air in the circumference of electrode material 4, 5 can be prevented reliably resulting in improvement of sealing performance. |
