METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REPLENISHING FLUX IN BOOM TYPE WELDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To lap the time for replenishing a flux on time for welding and to replenish uniformly the flux into a flux storage tank by providing a mechanism for holding a space which maintains the specified space between a freely rotatable chute provided to the outlet of a flux storage hopper and the tank to the top end of said chute. CONSTITUTION:A chute 11 is descended by a lifting device 12 at the timing when the rear end of a flux tank 2 moves to the position where the chute descends upon progression of welding. The descending force of the chute 11 by the device 12 is received by a roll 14 for holding a space. A valve 10 is opened to drop the flux 3 after descending of the chute 11, then a valve 13 is opened to replenish the flux into the tank 2. When the flux 3 is filled in the certain part of the tank 2, the flux 3 is stored in the chute. A flux detecting part 15 detects the storage thereof and when the detector 15 turns on, the valve 10 is closed. The flux 3 in the chute decreased and the detector 15 goes off, then the valve 10 is again opened. The flux in the chute is thus adjusted always to a small amt.
