PURPOSE:To stencil-print a shaped-off crest pattern having gradations in brightness, saturation and hue on a textile article, by applying mixture of a plurality of different coloring matters, namely, subtractive color mixture without bordering profile lines in a color different from the color of a crest pattern. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined crest 1 is cut out along the boundary lines 2 in a sheet selected from substances not permitting a printing ink to pass therethrough to produce a stencil 3, which is placed on a cloth 4 at a predetermined position. Then, the printing inks 5, 6 of, for example, color A and color B comprising different coloring matters are mixed with each other in appropriate amounts on a kneading base 7. When a desired color is obtained, the mixed ink is applied to the stencil 3a in one stroke by a squeegee 8 to stencil-print the crest 1a on the cloth 4. Accordingly, by previously producing the stencil 3, it is made possible to easily cope with any kind and size of shaded-off crest pattern. |
