PURPOSE:To feed a rolling material to rolling rolls at a proper position and to prevent its deviation from the center by providing a pair of vertically movable rolls, which hold the material from its upper and lower sides, to the front of material and moving vertically the rolls by a driving device. CONSTITUTION:A biting-control device is constituted of a pair of vertically movable rolls 20, 20' and a driving device of the rolls 20, 20'. The upper roll 20 is made vertically movable by cylinders 22, 22' attached to a frame 21, and the lower roll 20' is attached to another frame 25 attached to the frame 21 through cylinders 24, 24' and a driving device 23 for lifting. The device 23 consists of a motor and a power transmission mechanism to set the initial position of the lower roll 20', and the cylinders 24, 24' perform the fine adjustment of vertical position. By this constitution, when the initial positions of rolls 20, 20' are set by the cylinders 22, 22' and the device 23, and a rolling material X is restricted by the rolls 20, 20'; the biting position of material X is controlled to correct the deviation of material from the center produced before rolling by controlling properly the vertical movement of rolls 20, 20'. |
