The machine has several cutter bodies (17,19,21) in a casing (13) with an opening (15) at the bottom guiding the crop to an outlet opening (27). There are guide elements (30,32,33) extending inward from a side wall (25) below the plane of motion of the cutter bodies. The side wall is arched and the guide elements run horizontally as segments in curved sectors of the side wall. The guide elements are fitted to the side wall where the main stream of the cut crop is directed.
