PURPOSE:To efficiently heat a long-sized conductor such as a single wire or a twisted wire by running it almost circularly so that a straight part is formed in the closed loop and by supplying a current to an electric current converter to heat the conductor. CONSTITUTION:Long-sized conductor 1 is wound round flexible rubber or plastic circular body 7 provided with many metallic pieces or short circuit pieces 6 made of electrically conductive rubber so that double loop 1b is formed. Body 7 is rotatably supported by many guide rings 8 made of nonmagnetic material, and part of body 7 forms straight part 7s by expanding the space between rings 8. Electric current converter 5 for heating conductor 1 is set at part 7s. As conductor 1 runs, loop 1b rotates together with body 7. At this time, by supplying a current to converter 5 a secondary current is induced in loop 1b to heat loop 1b with resistance of a conductor segment between pieces 6. Thus, conductor 1 is heated continuously. |
