PURPOSE:To obtain novel physiologically active substance MY336-a effective against hypertension, arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, etc., by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces. CONSTITUTION:Novel physiologically active substance MY336-a is obtained by cultivating Streptomyces gamonae ATCC15282. The physiologically active substance has the following properties. The properties of the substance: colorless needle-like crystal. Melting point: 177-178 deg.C. Elemental analysis: C61.6wt%, H7.58wt%, N5.4wt%. Specific rotatory power: [alpha]D=-127 deg.C (C=0.5, methanol). Solubility: easily soluble in acidic water, soluble in water and methanol. Slightly soluble in acetone, hexane, ether, etc. |
