This method relates in particular to commutators comprising two coaxial conducting rings mounted around an overmoulded insulating portion, which permits manufacture <<continuously>> and without loss of metal. The starting point is from individual metal annular parts 1, each corresponding to one ring, which are aligned along an axis 4 while arranging them with gaps e. These rings are encased in an adhesively bonded insulating tube 6 which forms a temporary support. The tube 6 is then cut up into sections in elementary lengths 8 which join together the two rings 1 belonging to a single commutator, for the overmoulding of the insulating portion. The temporary tubular support 6 is ultimately removed. <IMAGE>
