RUST PREVENTIVE

PURPOSE:To obtain a rust preventive having low viscosity and penetrating well into fine crevices, etc. by adding a prescribed alcohol to an aqueous soln. contg. a neutralized salt of a prescribed aliphatic dibasic acid with an ethylenepolyamine or by further adding water soluble rust preventing chemical. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous soln. contg. 10-50wt% neutralized salt of a 6-12C aliphatic dibasic acid with a polyamine having 2-6 ethylene or methylene groups is prepd. To the aqueous soln. is added 10-50wt% 1-3C alcohol. Water soluble rust preventing chemicals may be added furthermore. The resulting rust preventive has low viscosity and penetrates well into fine crevices, etc.
