PURPOSE:To prepare the titled toner contg. no microparticle produced by emulsion polymn. by polymerizing a monomer composition for the toner suspended in an aq. phase contg. the 2:1 complex of an azo dye and a metal and a water-soluble polymer. CONSTITUTION:An aq. phase is prepared by adding 0.05-0.001g of the 2:1 complex of azo dye-metal to 100g of an aq. soln. of a 0.7-5wt% water-soluble polymer, such as partially saponified PVA, and heating the mixture to 60-80 deg.C to dissolve it. An oil phase is prepared by dispersing a colorant, a magnetic material, a triboelectrification controller, an offset inhibitor, etc. into a polymerizable monomer, such as styrene, and then, further adding a polymn. initiator. The oil phase is mixed with the aq. phase in a ratio of 1:(1-10), and dispersed into oil droplets of 5-30mum diameter, and gaseous nitrogen is introduced to polymerize the monomer at 40-100 deg.C. The polymer is filtered to remove the aq. phase, and dried. |
