PURPOSE:To improve both the warming-up property of catalyst in cooling an engine and the operability by delaying ignition timing when temperature of cooling water for the engine is lower than a predetermined value except under the acceleration condition. CONSTITUTION:The present time value of rotational frequency NE of an engine is read in step 21. In step 21 is judged whether or not temperature of cooling water for the engine is lower than a predetermined value and advance is made to step 23 if it cools the engine. In step 23 is judged whether or not the engine is accelerated, by the use of difference Y between the previous and present time rotational frequency NE of the engine. When the engine is cooled and not under the accelerated condition, ignition timing is delayed in step 24. Thus, both warming-up property of catalyzer and operability in cooling the engine can be improved. |
