A hose-connection ring for connecting an overflow hose to the rear wall of a washing machine or dishwasher is to be so designed, on the one hand, that no splash water can escape outwards from the overflow hose during normal operation. On the other hand, the mains plug of the machine is to have a specific position before or during the last production stage, so that, for test purposes, it can be automatically gripped, extracted and plugged back in again there. According to the invention, these two problems can be solved as one, in that the connection piece (1) has, on the inside, the shape of a two-pin plug socket with earth contacts according to DIN 49440 and, at the end facing the hose, a bottom (10) of a depth relative to the collar at most according to the bottom depth of such plug sockets, said bottom (10) having at least one hole, the profile of which is covered by a splash guard wall (13) held at an axial distance on the same side as the hose. <IMAGE>
