A packaging unit consists of a container, which is provided with downwardly bent tabs on at least two opposite sides, and of a sliding lid which is provided on the sides corresponding to said tabs with beads which grip around said tabs. As a result, the positive fit between the container and the sliding lid is improved considerably, such that they can also be produced from a thin material. The angle enclosed between the tabs and the horizontal is preferably 45 to 90 DEG . The container is produced in that the tabs, which are produced by deep-drawing and, for technical reasons, initially run horizontally, are bent obliquely downwards using heat and/or compressed air. The beads of the sliding lid must likewise be formed in an additional bending operation.
