PURPOSE:To attain both the warmup acceleration and the adequate cooling by providing a themovalve with a present value lower than the open-valve temperature of a thermovalve of a hot zone cooling system on a communicating passage between a cold zone and a hot zone. CONSTITUTION:During the cooling time when the temperature of a cold zone ZC is lower than the preset temperature T3 of a thermovalve 28, a communicating passage 27 is opened, a cooling water passage 8 is closed, a hot zone ZH is cooled in a hot zone cooling system B, and part of the heated cooling water heats the cold zone ZC to improve the warmup performance. Next, when the warmup is nearly completed, the valve 28 is switched, the communicating passage 27 is closed, the cooling water passage 8 is opened to stop the warmup acceleration. When the temperature of the cold zone ZC is further increased to exceed the preset temperature T1 of a valve 20, the communication to a radiator 17 is released, the cooling water passing the cooling water passage 8 is circulated, thus the cooling effect is increased and the filling efficiency of the intake air is improved, and the output can be improved. |
