The present invention describes a self-propelled combine harvester having a screen drum replacing the conventional screen box, an additional lateral oscillating movement and a further to-and-fro movement in the axial direction being imparted to this screen drum in addition to its rotational movement. Thus, in particular, the material to be cleaned, which is introduced into the screen drum, can be pulled apart as efficiently as possible and consequently a very good cleaning effect can be achieved.
