The oval gauge block (1) is mounted by means of an indicated suspension bolt (2) on a lifting tackle (not drawn in) and represents the connection to an indicated lifting element (3) via which the load is lifted. Adjacent to terminal arches (1c), the gauge block (1) has longitudinal sides (1a) and (1b) and between the latter in a housing (9, 13) a switching element (4) in the form of a microswitch whose switching plunger (5) strikes, when the gauge block (1) is loaded by tension on the lifting element (3), against the longitudinal side (1b), which has a projection at this point. The housing (9, 13) is mounted by means of screws (11) on the longitudinal side (1a) of the gauge block (1) and has nuts (8) for adjusting screws (7) by means of which the switching element (4) is adjusted in order to set the correct distance between the switching plunger (5) and projection (6). <IMAGE>
