摘要 Pressure waves start from the burners or their flames and can cause disturbances and damage in the combustion chambers. At the same time, these pressure waves also run in the opposite direction to flow. While pulsating combustion processes due to the pressure waves can be prevented for a certain frequency range by lateral cross-section widenings, this has not yet been found to be possible over the whole operating range of a burner. The invention makes possible such a vibration damping, without influencing the combustion chamber, by the provision, along the gas duct path to the burner, of cavities like Helmholtz resonators which are of different sizes and thus damp a frequency range in which the burner may be operated.
