PURPOSE:To provide a high reliability vibratory gyro equipped with diagnostic function, wherein piezo elements are inserted in a positive feedback loop of an amplifier to allow a vibrator to make self-exciting vibration, by furnishing a function to judge whether the gyro is operating normally. CONSTITUTION:In a vibratory gyro, piezo elements 12a, 12b are affixed to the side face of a vibrating body 11 having polygonal cross-section and inserted in a positive feedback loop of an amplifier 14, and connection electrodes of these piezo elements 12a, 12b are connected with an angular velocity sensing means 22. Amplitude monitoring means 31a, 31b are provided to monitor the output of the angular velocity sensing means 22 and/or amplifier 14, and judging is made whether the vibratory gyro operates normally or not on the basis of the outputs of these monitoring means 31a, 31b. |
