Broadcast receiver for deferred broadcast listening with a sound recording and sound playback device and ancillary electronic devices which is thereby able automatically to record broadcast programmes if their transmission times and frequencies have previously been entered into the device. The broadcast listener can then listen to these programmes from the recordings at a convenient time and no longer needs to miss them if he is unable to listen to them at the time when they are transmitted.
