The fume-extractor for a domestic kitchen is of a modular construction, using standard wall cupboard units to mount extractor modules. Extractor fans are mounted in the cupboard, being connected to each module by a flexible pipe. Each module incorporates a lighting unit together with a filter, using hinged fascia panels to mount the components and provide for maintenance access. Inter-module connections are of a double tenon type and also incorporate electrical connectors, sockets for electric feed cables being provided on the outer side wall. A slit on the front of the modules admits fumes, being designed to cause pressure drop in the hoses and promote uniform intake. An offset tube gathers fumes arising beyond the immediate vicinity.(0/1)
