PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a CPU and at the same time to eliminate the limitation for program constitution by using the exclusive hardware to obtain a bus monitor function and making use of the time during no use of a bus to perform the diagnosis of the bus. CONSTITUTION:A CPU, a main memory and an input/output device are connected to a bus 1, and the information is transferred via the bus 1. The bus 1 is diagnosed by making use of the time during which the transfer of information is temporarily discontinued and the bus 1 is idle. A detecting part 4 for no use of bus detects the signal existing on a signal line, and the monitor signal, i.e., the output of a monitor signal generating part 5 is transmitted from a driver 6 during the idle time of the bus 1. A comparator part 8 compares the monitor signal sent directly from the part 5 with the monitor signal which is received at a receiver part 7 after passing through the bus 1 and transmits a bus anomalous signal when no coincidence is obtained from said comparison. |
