Construction of anti-ice coating of a movable fender portion in a motor vehicle (11) in which the side door (13) is mounted on a quadric crank chain comprising two rotary links (14, 15). At least one of the rotary links (14) is covered when the door (13) is in the closed position by a movable fender portion (18A) which rotates with the link (14) about shaft (12A). A fender liner (20) forms an inner peripheral wall of a wheel housing (19). At its forward end a mudguard (21) is connected to and covers the outer edge of the fender liner (20) and at its top end it is connected to the upper fender (18B). At the connection to the upper fender (18B) and at the mudguard lower edges, the mudguard (21) is connected to the body by stays. The mudguard (21) covers the front portion of the movable fender portion (18A) when the door (13) is in the closed position. The mudguard (21) serves to protect the movable fender portion (18A) and the rotary links (14, 15) from becoming coated with ice.
