PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp projection image having no irregularity of illuminance by rotating a lighting member which lights up an original around an optical axis. CONSTITUTION:A microfilm F is mounted on a film carrier 14. At this time, when an image of the microfilm F is longitudinally long and the lengthwise direction of the filament of a lighting lamp is parallel to the lengthwise direction of the image on the film, the lighting means is left as it is. When the image of the microfilm F is laterally long and the lengthwise direction of said filament is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the image, the vertical wall 30a of the base 30 of the lighting means is rotated around the optical axis Y-Y by 90 deg.. Consequently, the image of the microfilm F and the filament of the lighting lamp coincide in direction with each other, and the laterally long image is lighted uniformly; and the lighting efficiency is improved and the sharp image is projected on a photosensitive drum or screen. |
