PURPOSE:To produce the titled erase head highly accurately and easily by winding a common coil for supplying erase current around a pair of symmetrical core blocks forming core pairs having magnetic gaps corresponding to respective tracks unitedly. CONSTITUTION:Pairs of cores 11-14 having respective magnetic gaps G1-G4 corresponding to respective tracks on a magnetic recording medium are unitedly formed by combining a pair of core blocks 21, 22. A pair of erase current supplying coils 23 are wound around the back gap of the pair of core blocks 21, 22. If erase current, e.g. AC current having proper frequency, is made to flow into the coil 23, signals recorded on the tracks abutted to the magnetic gaps G1-G4 can be erased. |
