<p>The method is intended to the purification of water, particularly waste water containing large amounts of special waste materials and domestic water of which the chemical and bacteriological quality has to be improved. The absorbing agent (particularly coal) is divided into fine particles and is brought into contact with the water to be purified either simultaneously or immediately after. In a reactor (crusher by friction (3, 4) or ultrasound crusher) the absorption agent is mixed as intimately as possible with the water. To increase the efficiency of the mixture, gas (air) in the form of bubbles as small as possible is introduced. The coal which has been added to the liquid remains in the sludge and is used for the further treatment (combustion) of substances (noxious substances) withdrawn from the water. Furthermore, it is possible to obtain an additional purification by separation of the phases (solid-liquid), for example by filtration, centrifugation, flotation, etc.</p> |
