PURPOSE:To reduce the number of drive circuits and facilitate the production of a panel with a fine picture element pitch by forming a write-in electrode divided into a panel upper substrate and a panel lower substrate and forming information transfer electrodes between main electrode groups and the write-in electrode. CONSTITUTION:A group 4 of main electrodes in parallel with each other under a panel upper substrate 8 with their faces covered with a dielectric film 7 and a group 5 of main electrodes in parallel with each other on a panel lower substrate 9 with their faces covered with the dielectric film 7 are arranged face to face so that individual electrodes of the group 4 are located between individual electrodes of the group 5 across a dischargeable gas space. An information write-in electrode 3 is separately provided under the substrate 8 and on the substrate 9 respectively in parallel with the groups 4, 5 at one end in the arrangement direction of the groups 4, 5, and information transfer electrodes T2, T4 and T1, T3 covered with a film 7 are provided in parallel with the groups 4, 5 between the groups 3, 4 and 3, 5 to be operated. |
