SEPARATION OF SERUM AND BLOOD-CLOT

PURPOSE:To reduce the time required for clotting of a blood in the stage of clotting the blood by allowing a cyclic org. compd. of which the two adjacent carbonyl groups are three-dimensionally and substantially on the same plane to exist in the blood. CONSTITUTION:The sepn. of a blood to a serum and blood-clot by a centrifugal sepn. according to this method is accomplished by allowing a cyclic org. compd. which is expressed by the general formula shown in the figure and in which the two adjacent carbonyl groups in said general formula are three-dimensionally and substantially on the same plane to exist in the blood. Such accelerator for blood clotting as the one mentioned above is present in the blood according to the above-mentioned method and therefore the blood clotting factor is quickly activated and the time required for clotting after sampling of the blood in a vessel is considerably reduced and at the same time the sepn. of the serum and the blood-clot is made extremely easy. The proble that the blood-clot component exists mixedly in the separated and drawn sample is thus solved and further the shrinkage of the blood-clot component is substantially accomplished, by which the yield of the serum is considerably increased.
