PURPOSE:To obtain a plate for a sealed lead storage battery having an improved gas-absorbing efficiency by adding an amount of lead sulfate within a specified range to prepare a negative active material. CONSTITUTION:A sealed lead storage battery is assembled by using a negative plate made by using a negative active material containing 5-20wt% of lead sulfate. In such a battery, since the recovery of the negative plate after electric discharge is later than that of a positive plate, there is no possibility of the generation of hydrogen gas. Besides, the existence of the above specified amount of lead sulfate in the negative active material does not cause any changes to the capacity of the battery and the utilization of the active material. Therefore, according to this method, the gas-absorbing efficiency of the sealed lead storage battery is improved. |
