PURPOSE:To raise the earthquake resistance of a foundation for a fast breeder reactor, etc., by a method in which a sole plate is fixed by base bolts, a base plate and the sole plate are connected with each other by shear keys, and sand is placed. CONSTITUTION:A sole plate 7 is fixed to a base concrete slab 3 through base bolts 8, and the sole plate is integrally connected with a base plate 1 by means of connecting bolts 9 provided to the sole plate 7. Then, the base plate 1 and the sole plate 7 are coupled with each other through shear keys 10 provided to both the plates. Furthermore, sand 11 is placed between the base plate 1 and the sole plate 7. In case where a transversal force is acted on the base plate 1 by earthquake, the transversal force is transmitted through the shear keys 10 to the sole plate 7. |
