A method of processing paper fibre material is proposed in which at least two grades (1, 2...) are prepared which differ in their fines content. The starting raw material, for which this method can be used, here already contains a certain quantity of fillers or fines. In the course of the process, at least two processing lines (I, II,...) are provided, of which one (II) contains process steps which selectively remove impurities but leave at least a part of the fillers and fines in the material. The other processing line (II) is, however, designed in such a way that a significant quantity of fillers and fines is removed which are then passed through a connecting line to the grade richer in fines. This method is used particularly for the stock preparation in front of paper machines with multi-layer headboxes. The grade lower in fines is fed as the layer nearest to the wire.
