CONTINUOUS ANNEALING FURNACE FOR STEEL STRIP USING RADIANT TUBE MADE OF CERAMICS

PURPOSE:To enable heating of radiant tubes up to one to several thousands deg.Cby sucking and passing the atmosphere gas in a furnace into the heat resisting steel tubes for protection provided between the radiant tubes and a steel strip then discharging the gas to the furnace inside. CONSTITUTION:A vertical type continuous annealing furnace has many hearth rolls 1 and radiant tubes 2 made of ceramics. Plural pieces of heat resisting steel tubes 4 are arranged between the tubes 2 and the strip 3 toward the height direction of the furnace and are supported via plural bars 5 by brackets 6 for supporting the furnace body. The tubes 4 are disposed for each of trains and the tubes 4 are gathered by a suction or blow-off header 7 or 8 underneath the furnace body. Both headers are connected respectively by connecting pipes 9, 11 to a ceramic pump 10. The atmosphere in the furnace is sucked by the pump 10 through the open ends at the tubes 4, is passed through the inside of the pipes 4 and is discharged again to the inside of the furnace. Then the tubes 4 protect the tubes 2 against impact and the tubes themselves are protected against high temp.
