PURPOSE:To obtain an objective lens driver having excellent characteristics by supporting a holding barrel for objective lens at an intermediate point between elastic matters provided at both side faces of an intermediate member and sliding this intermediate member along a guide. CONSTITUTION:This lens driver is provided with the 1st mobile part 14 containing an objective lens holding barrel 11 and a focusing drive coil 12 and a tracking drive coil 13, the 2nd mobile part 17, elastic matters 18 which support the part 14 at both side faces of the part 17, and magnetic circuits 19 and guides 20 set between both parts 14 and 17 with a distance respectively. The part 17 contains a hole 21 for the guide 20. In a focusing control mode, a current is flowed to the coil 12 to apply the up/down force to the part 14. Thus the part 17 moves up and down along the guide 20. In a tracking control mode, the force of the tracking direction is applied to the part 14 when a current is flowed to the coil 13. Then the part 14 moves in the tracking direction. |
