IMPROVEMENT OF CORROSION RESISTANCE OF LEAT-CALCIUM ALLOY

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of a Pb-Ca alloy contg. Ca by an amount exceeding the limit of solubilization at room temp. without reducing the mechanical strength by repeatedly subjecting the Pb-Ca alloy to soln. heat treatment and age hardening several times. CONSTITUTION:A Pb-Ca alloy contg. Ca by an amount exceeding the limit of solubilization at room temp. such as a Pb-Ca-Sn alloy is cast, or it is cast and rolled into a sheet to form a grid for a lead storage battery or the like. This Pb-Ca alloy product is subjected to soln. heat treatment at 180 deg.C- a temp. below the m.p. of the alloy for >=15min and age hardening at 70-170 deg.C for >=7min, and this stage is repeated three or more times. The corrosion resistance of the Pb-Ca alloy product can be improved without reducing the mechanical strength.
