NON-LINEAR OPTICAL MATERIAL AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a non-linear optical material uniform in the particle diameter of fine particles of a semi-conductor in an oxide layer and having excellent non-linear optical property and its producing method. CONSTITUTION:The non-linear optical material is made by alternately laminating an oxide layer 2 disposed with the fine particles of the semi-conductor 1 and a nitride layer 3. For example, the oxide layer 2 disposed with the fine particles of the semi-conductor 1 is formed by sputtering the semi-conductor and the oxide by a sputtering device. Next, the nitride layer 3 is formed by sputtering the nitride. The non-linear optical material is obtained by repeating a series of these processes.
