PREVENTION OF REAR WIND FOR COOLING PLATE OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To prevent thoroughly generation of the rear wind of the gas in a blast furnace in the case of attaching a cooling plate for protecting the shell of the furnace to the exposed shell part in the stage of repairing the furnace wall by attaching directly the cooling plate to the exposed part. CONSTITUTION:The charge in a blast furnace is reduced down to the level below the repair part of the furnace wall and the furnace is blown down then a seal plate 15 is provided around the rear end part of a cooling plate 4 for protecting the shell attached to the exposed shell part. The peripheral end part on the furnace side of the plate 4 is preliminarily chambered and a blowing material 18 is discharged from a blowing nozzle 3 to seal the circumference of the plate 15 from the furnace inside. Slurry-like refractories are forcibly fed into the space 6 between the rear surface of the plate 4 and the shell 5 by a force feeder 9 via a force-feed hose 8 and a force-feed port 7.
