PURPOSE:To improve the coefficient of steam fuel adsorption and eliminating rate, by a method wherein a Peltier effect type thermoelement is mounted to the adsorbing bed of a fuel steam adsorbing device, and through inversion of an energizing direction, a cooling action is effected during operation of an engine and a heating action during stop of the engine. CONSTITUTION:An adsorbing bed 2 of activated carbon is contained in a case 1 of a fuel steam adsorbing device, and a Peltier effect type thermoelement 6 is attached to the inside thereof. The thermoelement 6 is formed by a P type semiconductor element 8 and an N type semiconductor element which are interconnected through a metal plate 7, the electrode of the P type semiconductor element 8 is connected to a first terminal 11 of a change-over switch 10, and the electrode of the N type semiconductor 9 is connected to a second terminal 12 of the change-over switch 10. The change-over switch 10 is of an electromagnetically-operated type, and inverts the energizing direction of the thermoelement 6 in linkage with operation of an ignition key. |
