PURPOSE:To enable economic high speed copying in a high fixing strength by adding a metal or metal compd. or their mixture high in heat conductivity to the outside of a heat fixing toner to use it for copying. CONSTITUTION:A metal and/or metal compd. having a heat conductivity of >=0.9W/m.deg. and an average particle diameter of 1-7mum is added to the outside of a heat fixing toner composed essentially of a thermoplastic resin and a colorant in an amt. of 0.1-10wt% based on the toner. As the toner particles are heated, this heat is effectively absorbed because said metal and/or metal compd. serves as a good heat conductive medium. Since said metal, etc. have a comparatively large area in contact with the many local parts of toner particles to promote melting of the toner. As a result, the whole toner can be rapidly and uniformly melted even when heating temp. is comparatively low, and voids between the toner and a transfer paper can be reduced to enlarge the contact area between them and enhance fixing strength. The typical metal and/or metal compd. to be added to the outside of the toner is copper oxide, copper, aluminum oxide, etc. |
