PURPOSE:To perform always accurate seam welding without deviation in mutual position relations in spite of increasing of pressing force and in spite of a high speed by fixing an outer electrode of a can body and a Z rail to the frame of a welding machine. CONSTITUTION:An outer electrode 2 and a guide 5 for the outside circumference of a can body of a seam welding machine for can bodies are both secured to a frame 10. Further, a Z rail 6 is secured directly to the frame 10. An inner electrode 3 is pivotally supported at the leading end of an F-shaped supporting arm 9, and the arm 9 is pivotally suppoted firmly to the frame 10 by means of a shaft 14. The electrode 2 receives pressing force by a spring 8 at the other end. Since the electrode 2, the rail 6 and the guide 5 are secured directly to the frame 10 by the above, they are immobile once their positions are adjusted, and the accurate welding is made possible. |
