Method and apparatus for manipulating filled bags

A method and an apparatus for manipulating filled bags is described which is held on a filling piece by means of two clamp straps. With the assistance of closable pairs of grippers, the bags still secured by the clamp straps are taken hold of, delivered onto a transport apparatus and spread at their upper edges, so that they can be fed into a closing apparatus without problems. The pairs of grippers may be part of a rotating apparatus or pivoting apparatus, thereby establishing a special adaptation to bag-filling apparatuses with a plurality of filling pieces on a carousel.
