In an apparatus for cleaning and sorting grains and the like having an air classifier (7) by means of which a fraction (A) which falls through downwards is separated from the feed material, having a sieve device arranged beneath the air classifier (7) receiving the fraction (A), which sieve device has two sieve groups with respectively at least one cleaning sieve (24 or 30) and at least one sorting sieve (27 or 35) connected by a line thereto, and having baffles (29 or 32) arranged between the air classifier (7) and the cleaning sieves (24 or 30) and between these and the sorting sieves (27 or 35), a changeover device (60) is provided in the region of the outlet of the baffle (29) leading to the cleaning sieves (24 or 30), by means of which the access from the cleaning sieve side to a respective sieve group is selectively releasable and to the respective other sieve groups can be blocked. In this manner, a separate use of the individual sieve groups is possible, preferably for different kinds of grains. <IMAGE>
