In wall-stiffening roof support, in particular for flat roofs, a ring beam, which carries a sliding layer and on which the roof is supported, is arranged on the masonry and a mortar layer, the ring beam being assembled from endlessly interconnected steel bars having mortar openings. To simplify manufacture and to increase the reinforcing action of the ring beam, the latter is assembled from steel bars (6, 6') profiled in the shape of a channel and is arranged on the mortar layer so that the webs (7) form the base and the flanges (8) point upwards. In addition, the steel-bar channels are filled with concrete to form the base for the sliding layer, the upper surface of the concrete filling (14) being flush with the upper edges of the steel-bar flanges (8), and the width of the steel bars (6, 6') in each case corresponding at least approximately to the thickness of the masonry (2). <IMAGE>
