DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING CUTTING FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of an error in clamping and to improve the cutting accuracy of a billet by actuating a clamper by taking the delay in the real time required for operation of the clamper into account for the measured length value in a billet length measuring part and the moving speed of the billet. CONSTITUTION:A delay in the clamping time specific to a clamper 7 is preliminarily set in a setter 12 for the clamping time. When a billet 11 moves on a roller table, a measuring roll 4 contacts rollingly with the billet 11 and the speed signal of the billet 11 is inputted from a synchronizing signal generator 8 to a controller 10. When the billet 11 arrives at a torch 5, the measuring roll incorporated therein measures the length of the billet 11 and a length measuring signal is inputted from the transmitter 9 to the controller 10. The controller 10 outputs an operation signal to the clamper 7 of the torch 5 to clamp the torch 5 to the billet 11 and to move the torch synchronously with the billet 11. The controller 10 operates a torch driving part 6 to cut the billet 11. The controller 10 unclamps the clamp 7 after the cutting and resets the torch 5 to the initial position.
