PURPOSE:To increase the ensuring property of brake function by a method wherein the hydraulic brake pressure is increased to a given pressure after a braking operation to stop the vehicle is stopped, in the vehicle equipped with a hydraulic brake pressure holding device facilitating the starting operation of the vehicle on a slope ascending road. CONSTITUTION:A liquid flow interrupting valve 5 is interposed between pipelines 1, 2 connecting between a master cylinder 3 and wheel cylinders 4 and the liquid flow interrupting valve is closed when the hydraulic brake pressure is being supplied to the wheel cylinders 4, whereby a high internal pressure is held. A normally closed type pressure setting valve 6 is provided in parallel to the liquid flow interrupting valve 5. A pressure boosting machine 7, consisting of a boosting chamber 8, communicated with the pipeline 2, and a plunger 10, is provided on the way of the pipeline 2 while the plunger 10 is driven by a driving machine 11. The driving machine 11 pushed up the plunger through a piston 17 utilizing a pressure difference between a vacuum chamber 15 and an atmosphere chamber 16, which is generated by the switching of a communicating switching valve 20 energized simultaneously with the energization of the liquid flow interrupting valve 5. |
